WHAT IS THE BIG GIVE CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE?

The challenge starts at midday on Tuesday 1st December and ends at midday on Tuesday 8th of December 2020 – so we have just 7 days to raise our ambitious target of £2,500. The special thing about the challenge is that all donations given during the time frame & via the big give website, are matched, meaning your donation is DOUBLED and so is the #IMPAACT.

“My daughter is in a wheelchair and has severe learning difficulties so it is incredibly important that we can do things together, which are accessible and which are run by people with experience and understanding of all those needs. She loves doing the physical activities in her own way and joining in with anything her brother does.”

HOW WILL MY DONATION MAKE AN #IMPAACT?

All funds raised throughout the challenge will go towards our Limitless Programme. This programme enables young people with additional needs & their families to spend quality time together taking part in accessible activities. Without this financial aid, our participants and their families would simply not be able to experience these fun, family enriching outdoor activities.

This is the BIGGEST fundraising campaign that PAACT has ever done, and we are doing it so that we can improve and increase our outreach for our Limitless programme.

What we are raising the money for;

• Bigger and better equipment

• Specialist support for parents

• More FREE sessions

• We are also looking to expand our offer to Young Carers, whom we want to invite to Limitless sessions for their own day of respite and fun, where they can meet other young people in similar situations.

LIMITLESS ACTIVITY DAYS

At PAACT we are committed to helping young people be the best that they can be. Our Limitless Activity Days provide fun and active sessions for young people with disabilities. We want to increase our reach and offer these days to more young people and their families, and allow more people to benefit.

Families with a child with additional needs often find it difficult to access activities that are exciting, safe and suitable for the whole family. Families gain huge benefits from being able to spend time together, have fun, build relationships and get active. Specifically, we want to encourage young people with additional needs to be able to join in with activities and spend quality time with their siblings.

Between 2018-19 our ‘Limitless’ sessions provided fun challenges and bonding opportunities for 237 participants. We would like to improve on our sessions by holding disability specific days, such as days for children with autism, and inviting a specialist in that field in for a Q&A sessions with parents/carers.

Thanks to their generosity we have £1250 in pledges which has been matched by our Champion.

So this December 1st, known as #givingtuesday, we are now looking to our friends, families, clients, community and supporters to raise the remaining amount which will again be matched by our Champion! Any funds raised that do not meet our target will still be used on our Limitless programme.

By increasing the amount of Limitless sessions we run, improving the equipment we can use then more people will be able to take part and experience the benefits of physical and mental stimulation from these fun activities.

The fund will help to give young people with additional needs and their families a place to feel safe again, to smile again…. that’s what your donation can achieve.
