Peter Ashley Activity Centres Trust
Fort Purbrook
So we are throwing open the Fort to host two fantastic outdoor cinema events in June and August.
This is such a unique opportunity for the public to have access to the Fort.
We had a huge success with screening Dunkirk on our grassy parade ground last year. This year we are aiming for a wider appeal with Bohemian Rhapsody and The Greatest Showman.
If anyone would be interesting in supporting these events there are sponsorship opportunities available through Film on a Farm info@filmonafarm.co.uk

Film on a Farm is a unique Outdoor Cinema experience. Showcasing some of the most stunning landscapes the Great British countryside has to offer. Pull up a straw bale, and snuggle up beneath a blanket of stars and join us for a night to remember with your favourite movie.
Last year Fort Purbrook successfully ventured into the world of the outdoor cinema experience, so this summer the Peter Ashley Activity Centres Trust are delighted to welcome back Film on a Farm to our Victorian Fort.

Fort Purbrook was built on Portsdown Hill with a purpose to protect our community and now the Trust ensures that its purpose is to serve our community.
With this very much in mind we are lighting up the grassy parade with the scenes and sounds of two immensely popular musical front runners – Bohemian Rhapsody (14th June) and The Greatest Showman (2nd August)
So, this summer we are sending out the invite to come and sing along whilst absorbing the hidden heritage of the Fort.

Sweets, Popcorn, Ice Cream will satisfy those with a sweet tooth, while a well stocked bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as tea and coffee will be available. THERE IS A STRICT NO GLASS POLICY on all sites due to sites being working farms with livestock.

Yes, but do be aware that the films will commence screening at dusk, between approximately 8.30 and 9.30pm, depending on sunset. Please adhere to the film age rating and anyone aged 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult. We encourage you to get the babysitter and taxi booked and settle in for the evening!

Lots and lots, the parking is in a field next to the screen and free for Film on a Farm ticket holders.
Can I bring chairs to sit on?
We have VIP deckchairs seating which, in our opinion, is the best place to enjoy Film on a Farm. You have to be quick though as these are limited. Another great way to enjoy Film on a Farm is to bring a good rug, blanket or bean bag for comfort. If you do bring camping chairs we ask you to be mindful of those sitting around you and keep towards the edges of the seating area.
Will there be a cash point or card machine?
Unfortunately due to the rural location of the farms, all transactions on site will be cash only, please do come prepared.
What happens if it rains?
The screenings will be outdoors, we can’t depend on the great British weather but at Film on a Farm the show must go on. Please bring your most practical clothes to keep you warm and dry.

Due to the sites being on grass fields, access may be limited. We do ask Film on a Farm guests with restricted mobility to please be accompanied during their visit for ease. Disabled WC facilities will be available.

Unfortunately not I’m afraid. Film on a Farm takes place in grass fields used for grazing livestock, so in the interest of animal welfare, please leave them behind. We do of course allow registered guide dogs for those that require them.
