We’re on the lookout for a welcoming and dedicated person to join our team as a receptionist at Fort Widley. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact at Fort Widley and is responsible for providing a warm welcome to all. They will ensure, through building strong working relationships with all Centre users, partners, and staff, that the objectives, Vision and Mission of the Trust are met. Though this role is predominantly based at Fort Widley some cover work will be required at Fort Purbrook too.
Through effective coordination they will ensure the smooth and efficient running of the reception function at Fort Widley including all telephone, email and face to face enquiries and designated bookings.

Quick Info
- Main Duties to include initial point of contact for all enquires via phone, email and in person.
- Coordinating the booking system, typing letters, generating invoices, handling petty cash as well as basic admin duties.
- Candidate must be computer literate, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
- Hours: 37.5 per week, to include some evening and weekend work
- Main location will be Fort Widley, but cover may be required at Fort Purbrook

Requirements
Essential requirements
- Good/polite telephone manner
- GCSE (or equivalent) A-C in English and Maths
- Clear communicator
- Good time management
- Computer literate on excel and word
- Attention to detail
- Must be a team player
- Must be calm under pressure
- Successful applicants at interview will need to complete an enhanced DBS check (completed in house)
- A sense of fun
- Full clean driving licence

Successful candidates will support the Centre in their day to day roles by ensuring the clients with a safe, fun, educational and high-quality experience.
Staff are trained, observed and supervised in their role by their line manager.
We want you to experience variety and satisfaction in your role, but at the same time we also want you to create lasting memories with our clients by working with them on repeat visits and build relationships to help create that familiar and memorable experience.
The working week excludes Bank Holidays and holiday cannot be taken during June, July and August without prior agreement with the Centre Manager.
We run a probationary period of 6 – 8 weeks from start dates; contracts are issued during this time based on satisfactory performance..
Safety standards
As an organisation, it is important that we maintain high staff and safety standards. Upon joining us, all employees receive an employee handbook that details the do’s and don’ts of life at PAAC as well as our HR systems and procedures. All staff will also receive a formal contract to sign and performance appraisals and session observations are held throughout the year.
Important points
This is not a residential job, so transport to and from the centre is required.
