Adventurer Programme
A chance to experience a variety of stimulating, practical activity sessions on one new adventure away from school, college or work. Everyone will navigate through the day learning the importance of working together, gaining a taste of independence and inspiring their curiosity and creativity.
The Adventurer Programme brings together and exciting mix of adventure and wild survival, immersing your class or group in nature and encouraging them to utilise the resources in their environment to challenge their perceptions of the natural world. Your group will be taken on a journey of exploration through our adventure environments, with a range of engaging sessions including shelter building, fire lighting and foraging, camp cooking or First Aid and Problem Solving or Awareness of the Natural World.
You can choose a one off session or day visit which includes fun activities based around team building and discovery, or add on a big sleepover for an extra special trip. It’s the perfect taster before embarking on an even bigger adventure in their later years.
This package is ideal for team development, enrichment days, summer schools, induction days and much more!
For more information about the Adventurer Programme at the Peter Ashley Activity Centres call Fort Purbrook on 023 9232 1223 for details.

The participants will build a camp with their teammates as a fun way to familiarise themselves with the environment. This might include setting up shelters, building camp utensils, making cordage or building an improvised kitchen.
One of the core principals of Bushcraft survival, we teach students the importance of fire and a number of fire lighting methods, both modern and ancient.
The wilderness cookery class encourages a sense of self-reliance in the participants and gives them key culinary skills that can easily be used in the kitchen at home.
The participants will learn why we need shelter when we are living outside, and the types of shelter people from different societies, nationalities and places have used across the ages.
The participants will learn basic skills to cope with a medical emergency in the wild, including how to identify hypothermia and hyperthermia, and how to construct an improvised stretcher.
A series of challenges will be set and each team will have to work together to complete them and claim first prize.
The participants will put all of their new skills to the test and work in teams to complete the survive the storm challenge, from picking the right equipment to survive to building the right shelter. They need to use their new found knowledge to survive
