Join up and take a shot at a new sport!
Fort Purbrook Junior Archery Club is our newest club all about the development of our younger archers. Meeting every Thursday at 5:45pm-6:45pm. It is made up of youngsters aged 8-14, taking part in a variety of archery based activities including introduction to the sport, developing their skills, taking part in fun games and challenges and more formal archery rounds, and simulated tournaments designed to help any junior who chooses to compete at that level.
Enjoying archery is an important part of the Junior section – enthusiastic instructors help through out the session and work with the juniors to bring a strong team spirit at the Club.
*8-14 years of age for participants
Our Junior Club is linked to our Open Archery Club.

Beginner Course Info
If you are interested in taking up the sport of archery then why not enrol on one of our beginners courses.
We run beginner courses periodically through the autumn season to the spring, open to everybody over the age of 8. Full equipment hire is included and the course runs over six consecutive Tuesday sessions. You will be coached by experienced archers and learn the basic skills. We are sure you will have fun and be hitting the gold in no time.
Our coaches will teach and advise you on a number of topics over the duration of the course, relating to style, bow types, safety and shooting etiquette. The intention is that you will complete the course having had fun and having also acquired some basic skills and competence in the sport.
Have you completed a beginners course already? If you have completed one of our beginner’s courses and would like to take up this very enjoyable sport you will be most welcome to join us.. We are quite happy to accept new members who can demonstrate that they have completed a course either here or elsewhere, or archers who are members of GNAS and can produce a current membership card.
Activity Info
We’re a friendly and welcoming club based in the spectacular setting of a Victorian Fort. We have a wide variety of members, from archers that have been shooting for over 40 years to juniors of just 8 years old, from county & national standard to beginners, using recurve bows, compound bows & longbows – all are welcome.
Archery is a sport just about everyone can take part in and enjoy. Whether you are competitive and wish to progress to the top level of competitions or you just want to enjoy a relaxing few hours with good company. Fort Purbrook Junior & Open Archery Club can help you achieve your aim!

Our fully qualified instructors will inspire everyone to achieve and learn while spending the sessions having bags of fun. All safety equipment is provided.

*Payment for all six weeks of the beginners course must be made in full before starting
Due to rare unforeseen circumstances (eg: bad weather, damaged equipment) the activity session may adapt and in some cases may be substituted for an appropriate alternative.
